Dear LME Families,
There are so many things that make Laurel Mountain special—from our deeply committed parents to our dedicated teachers and amazing administration. We are truly lucky to have such a supportive community. As September comes to a close, we want to remind everyone that the Laurel Mountain Elementary Excellence Fund campaign wraps up on September 30th. This fund makes so many of the magical learning experiences our students enjoy possible, including the E2 Program and Pathways. Goal: 100% class participation! Reward: Every class with 100% participation earns a popsicle party from the school. How: Simply complete the form (no donation required to count toward participation, but any amount able is appreciated).

Westwood Homecoming Spirit Week This past week was Spirit Week, and we had a blast! It was our first year participating in all the Westwood Homecoming activities, and we look forward to making this a cherished annual tradition. Events like this take a village to pull off. If you were inspired by all the fun and have a talent or passion you’d like to share, keep an eye out for opportunities to get involved!
As we roll into October, keep an eye out for a lineup of fun events—starting with Fitnic on Friday, October 2nd! Hope to see everyone there!

| Fitnic is Friday!!! Get ready to move, play, and connect! This Friday, October 2nd, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Laurel Mountain Elementary is hosting our annual Fitnic—a fun-filled evening dedicated to family fitness!
We have an incredible lineup of activities for everyone to try this year:
Sports & Games: Pickleball, Minigolf, Flag Football, Lacrosse, Cricket, Basketball, and Table Tennis Movement & Culture: Indian Dance and Chinese Dance
Pack a picnic dinner, bring the whole family, and get ready to try something new together! If you'd rather buy dinner or a sweet treat, we will have a Top Taco Truck and Moms & Pops Popsicles available on-site for purchase. | Join the Bike Train for Walk & Roll to School Day When: Wednesday, October 7th - The train leaves the park at 7:00 am! Where:Barrington Park
Laurel Mountain families are invited to celebrate Walk & Roll to School Day by joining our Bike Train on Wednesday, October 7th. Students will ride the 1.4 mile route to school together in a safe and fun group, supported by parent volunteers.
To keep everyone safe, please remember: Helmets are required for all riders Make sure bikes have working lights and reflectors Check that your bike is tuned up and road-worthy before the big day Young children (Pre-K, Kinder and Grade 1) are encouraged to have adult riders accompany them. We will have volunteers for the group but not enough to assist individual children.
We are still looking for parent volunteers to help guide and supervise along the way.

This National PTA arts program invites students to dream big, create something amazing, and share their talents with our school community and beyond! | Update your Child's Teacher on the PTA Website As we really start moving this year, it is SUPER helpful if you can confirm your child's teacher is correct. This information is CRUTCIAL to make sure your spirit orders, carnival tickets and more are delivered to the right student!!!

| Celebrating Our Staff Raffle Winners! This week’s raffle was a thank-you to the LME faculty and staff who joined the PTA. They already give so much to our students each day. Choosing to be part of the PTA is another way they show up—for families, for our school, and for the work we do together. That partnership matters. Two Texas PTA Membership AwardsBy surpassing last year’s membership total before September 30, LME will earn the Early Bird Achievement Award. That same milestone also will earn us the Snappy Increase Award, which has an October 31 deadline—meaning we reached it more than a month early. The awards are exciting, but what they represent matters most: hundreds of parents, teachers, staff, students, grandparents, and community members choosing to be part of the work. Thank you for showing up for LME.
