Dear LME Families, This week, we held our very first Executive Board meeting of the school year. It was a productive session where we tackled a lot of important behind-the-scenes business—from slating our Executive Committee to reviewing our financial reconciliations. While it was a busy day, what struck me most was a single statistic: out of 43 board positions, 41 are already filled for this school year! We also had over 100 parents signup to be part of the Homeroom Parent Team! How incredibly lucky are we to have parents who step up so eagerly to answer the call to serve our school, teachers, students and community? When I was preparing for this role over the summer, I was astonished to realize just how many PTA programs rely on fewer than ten people to run. We truly have a remarkable community of parents who are always ready to lend a hand whenever asked. Over the next few weeks, we will be highlighting various programs happening at LME that your financial contributions directly support. One of our biggest is our Teacher Supply Reimbursement program. All LME teachers are able to submit receipts for their beginning-of-the-year supplies, with new teachers receiving a larger stipend. We know that setting up a classroom—even for veteran teachers—is an added expense that the district cannot cover. On top of reimbursements, we were also able to purchase almost $2,000 in color construction paper for all grade levels this year! This was made possible by funds raised during last year’s Fun Run. Thank you again for financially supporting our PTA so we can provide much-needed support to our incredible teachers.

| LME Special General Meeting Meeting Details: A special meeting will be held to discuss the upcoming 2026–2027 Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE). We will share information regarding the upcoming Round Rock ISD VATRE / Proposition A. A representative from the school district will give a presentation on the election to explain what the VATRE covers, how it will impact our schools, and answer your questions. Following the presentation, our PTA membership will hold a vote. Our local vote will officially instruct Laurel Mountain PTA's delegate on how to vote at the Council Delegate Meeting on September 23rd.
